What can I expect from therapy?

Our first session will include an evaluation of your needs and allow you to form an impression of what our work together will look like. This intake process will typically take up to 50 minutes, during which you can decide if you would like to continue working with me. It is important to make sure you feel comfortable and confident in the care I can provide to you. If we decide that the care I can provide will be a good fit for your therapeutic journey, we will develop goals and collaborate on a treatment plan that will best help you reach them. 

Each client experience is unique, however, most individual psychotherapy sessions are typically conducted once per week and are 50 minutes in length (with a range of 25 to 75 minutes depending on the treatment approach we choose).  The length of treatment is flexible and based on your goals and needs. Many people experience benefits within several months of weekly therapy, whereas others benefit from longer-term therapy to address more complex needs.
